Kia ora whanau - Welcome to Room 16.
I look forward to working with your child to explore new opportunities both within the classroom and outside, such as Camp Carey (19-21st February).
If you have any hesitations or your child is unable to attend camp, please contact me as soon as possible, jkellie@marinaview.school.nz
This week your child has been introduced to our new classroom website. The website has been tailor-made to our students’ needs and to the learning that will be taking place this term.
The purpose of the website is to provide our students with student agency so that they may choose what they want to learn and when, thus increasing their engagement. It also allows students to share their learning experiences with their family. It provides students with an opportunity to practice digital citizenship in a safe and controlled environment. We’re really excited to share this with you.
If you have any issues accessing the site, please advise so we can work through them. Please bear with us whilst technical issues are being resolved.
For student and family comfort and ease, our homework is digital and is available via our website. Students can log in using their school google account, click on the website and scroll to Homework. Homework consists of:
> 1 Math sheet per week.
> Reading via Read Theory, username and password have been provided.
> 10 Spelling words at either Practising, Maintenance or Expert level.
If your child does not have access to a digital device, we will provide printed homework.
Should you have any questions please feel free to contact me. I have an open door policy and I welcome the opportunity to talk with you.
Mrs Jennifer Kellie
